808 STATE – DARREN (DJ set)

Darren Partington has been a key member of 808 State since the late 80’s. The story of 808 State defines an era of electronic dance music, and sets a blueprint of possibilities for future generations. Formed in Manchester in 1988, their first album “Newbuild” is now regarded as a milestone in UK electronica and sprang from a desire for a more outer-limits dance sound from the growing warehouse party scene in North West England. His set includes all the old-school classics. Darren has been there since the very beginning, so don’t miss this dance music pioneer playing the best tunes of the last 30 years.

F**K PAST (FK PAST) feat. Liz E

Flynn Ites and DJ Krust are Bristol based artists and electronic producers, who come from the mid 80’s sound system background. They are founding members of the Fresh Four DJ collective who later went on to release the Top 10 UK hit “Wishing On A Star” together with LIZ E on vocals. In the early 90’s they became interested in the Rave scene and started to produce what was to become Drum and Bass. Producing and performing this genre internationally ever since. In 2019 they once again turn their attention to a new project called “ F**K “ (FK PAST) which fuses their history and love of electronic music to bring yet another a strong new sound from Bristol.

Queen Bee has been an integral part of the Bristol Bass scene for 30 years. Cutting her teeth on the pirate stations of the late 80s Queen Bee went on to be Massive Attacks tour DJ and a regular guest DJ at nightclubs up and down the country.  Well known for the diversity she brings to her sets , Queen Bee plays with an enthusiasm that’s catching.  Hand-picked from her huge vinyl collection Queen Bee is sure to shake the floor with a mix of bass driven House,  influenced by Reggae, Afrobeat & Latin.

Peter D. Rose, member of the Bristol based Trip-Hop trio Smith & Mighty, known for his eclectic sets from Jungle and Drum & Bass to Dub and House, joins our line up with a special DJ set. In the early 90’s, together with Rob Smith, he formed the jungle act “More Rockers” releasing the very first artist jungle album, followed by 2 albums under the same name “Dub Plate Selection Vol 1, 2 & 3” and then went on to DJing. He officially joined the Smith and Mighty crew in the late 90’s. Previous to that he was a part of Massive Attack  writing and producing the “Blue Lines” album. Since then, and in his own words; “Some of the very best times in my career is being blessed with being able to travel and see the world, giving out good energy and feeling the audience giving it back. Its a hard feeling to beat “.
