The Old Market Assembly is first and foremost a place for people to meet. Our aim is to create an environment where cultures collide and meld to create new connections between people and ideas. This runs through the design of the space and into the shaping of the menu, bakery and theatre and music.
The Old Market Assembly is also about collaboration. In our collaboration with the Wardrobe Theatre we are creating a space for high quality and accessible theatre, comedy, arts and music.
Keeping things accessible is a mantra for us. We are here for everyone. That means ensuring everyone can come. Affordable quality is at the heart of everything we do which is why a main courses start at £5.50, theatre tickets start at £6, a world class coffee starts at £2 and it’s free to see a great band.
We also are doing our best to be a triple bottom line business, putting equal emphasis on people, planet and profit. As proud members of the Sustainable Restaurant Association we are accountable to making this a reality and whilst we are by no means perfect we are really trying to do our bit. Any bright ideas on how we can improve, please let us know.
So in summary The Old Market Assembly is a space for you to come together with others for the joy of it, to eat together, to have chance encounters, to laugh, to watch, to listen, to dance and hopefully to be inspired. Or maybe it’s just a place to buy some bread and have a coffee.
